Statement from Pacific Ethanol Co-Founder on Clean Fuels Program, Signed into Law By Governor Kate Brown
BOARDMAN – Pacific Ethanol co-founder Tom Koehler released the following statement this afternoon in response to the announcement from the office of Governor Kate Brown that SB 324, Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program, has been signed into law:
“The future is bright for the next generation of fuels. Oregon has been and continues to be a leader in all sectors of this fast growing and sustainable market. From biofuels to electric vehicles to natural and renewable gas, clean fuels are ready and able to offer cheaper options to Oregonians while reducing pollution.
These investments require the consistent market signal Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program provides. By signing this bill into law today, Governor Kate Brown has demonstrated Oregon’s commitment to consumers that our state is open for clean fuel business.”
Pacific Ethanol’s Boardman plant generates 40 million gallons of ethanol; provides 35 direct living-wage jobs with benefits and supports more than 700 jobs servicing the production, marketing, maintenance and operations of our plant; and provides a cleaner, lower carbon fuel alternative for the transportation market.
