More than 100 businesses have joined the Clean Fuels Work coalition to support Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program, a smart transportation fuel policy that cleans our fuels and our air. These businesses recognize that the program expands our fuel alternatives and improves public health, while providing opportunities for business development, jobs, and economic growth.
They also recognize that the time to do it is now: Lawmakers must make the critical choice to renew the Clean Fuels Program before its 2015 sunset. The Program provides the regulatory certainty businesses need to invest – and, well, reducing the carbon content of our transportation fuels shouldn’t wait any longer either.
XKCD breaks it down: Without smart policies to limit carbon emissions (like Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program), the earth is projected to warm by “one ice age unit.”
